All our vehicles are long wheelbase (6.5metre) Volkswagen TD35 vehicles.
This extra length allows for
toilet and shower and a roomy and comfortable double bed (1.8m X 1.7m)
which folds up vertically to create a spacious interior. A bunk bed suitable
for a child is easily and quickly installed.
The VW has a powerful, yet economical 2.5 litre diesel engine with manual
transmission, power steering and air conditioning.
Your Kahurangi Motorhome has bed linen, a microwave, gas stove,
hot and cold pressurised water and heating so you can enjoy those cold
cloudless starry nights in the mountains. A 60 litre fridge ensures plenty
of room to keep food and drinks chilled. The kitchen is well stocked with
all the equipment necessary to cook up stunning meals using the finest
foods, New Zealand has to offer.
A radio, cassette player, and CD player are standard equipment and a TV
is available on request.
Each motorhome has a small number of books which includes the Automobile
Association book of New Zealand road maps, a copy of the New Zealand road
code, a number of books on New Zealand flora and fauna and of course,
the guide book to the Lord of the Rings film locations.
Our motorhome fleet consists of up to date vehicles,
and are serviced regularly but in the unlikely event
that you experience problems our free phone will enable you to contact
our staff 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
If you are unsure about driving in New Zealand, or are unfamiliar with
our road rules our staff will take the time to give you a practical driving
lesson at no cost and will demonstrate the features of your home away
from home.

A deposit of $500 is required to secure
your motorhome booking.
The remaining balance is due in full, 7 days before the commencement
of hire.
When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up
is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day
of the vehicle's return is counted as the final day of the rental.
Minimum
rental period is 7 days except between May and October and advertised
specials.
Special rates are available for rentals of more than 30 days.
Late pick
up or early return of vehicle does not entitle the hirer to any refund
of the unused portion of the rental.
Late returns
will be charged on a per day basis. Failure to obtain authorisation
for a rental extension will result in a daily fee of $150 in addition
to the daily rate.
One-way rentals are available by prior arrangement. Motorhomes can be
dropped off at any New Zealand airport by prior arrangement and will incur
additional drop off charges which will be quoted on booking.
