A deposit of $500 is required to secure
your motorhome booking. The remaining balance is due in full, 7 days before
the commencement of hire.

When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up
is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day
of the vehicle's return is counted as the final day of the rental.
-Minimum rental period is
7 days except between May and October and advertised specials.
-Special rates are available for rentals of more than 50 days.
-Late pick up or early return of vehicle does not entitle the hirer to
any refund of the unused portion of the rental.
-Late returns will be charged on a per day basis. Failure to obtain authorisation
for a rental extension will result in a daily fee of $150 in addition
to the daily rate.

One-way rentals are available by prior
arrangement. Motorhomes can be dropped off at any New Zealand airport
by prior arrangement and will incur additional drop off charges which
will be quoted on booking.

Nelson Office. - Pickup & Delivery from and to the Nelson office can
be made at any time of the night and day. We are closed on Christmas Day
except for emergencies. Kahurangi Motorhomes offer a free pick up and
delivery to and from the Nelson Airport if required.

New Zealand legislation provides Accident
Compensation Insurance for personal injury. We strongly recommend that
all people travelling in New Zealand take out Personal Travel Insurance.
All vehicles are insured for
the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The hirer
is responsible for the first NZ$1500 (“the excess”) for Motorhomes
of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle,
including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, overhead
and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in
or vandalism. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the
period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (demurrage).
The excess applies in respect
of each claim.
The excess is applicable regardless
of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is
completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded
if we are successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third
Party.
Please see the ‘Exclusions’
section below, whereby all insurance cover will be made void.

Insurance does not cover the following:
1. Any water related damage,
which includes but is not limited to:
a) any vehicle submersion
b) creek or river crossing
c) driving through low plain flooded areas
d) beach driving
2. Personal belongings: We
recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they
take out personal insurance.
3. If the terms of the Rental
Agreement are breached. The hirer will be responsible for the total cost
of any damage. This will also include any damage caused by wilful misconduct
(e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle) and driving
under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
4. The incorrect use of fuel
(fuel being diesel or petrol). The hirer will be responsible for any associated
cost.
5. The cost to retrieve or
recover a vehicle which has become bogged.
6. The cost to replace keys
which have become lost, or retrieval of keys which have been locked in
a vehicle.

On pick up of the vehicle, a Vehicle
Security Deposit is payable.
A Security Deposit is required of NZ$1500, and is payable by cash, Traveller’s
Cheques, or credit cards. Should the Deposit be paid by credit card, authorisation
will be gained for the Security Deposit.
The Security Deposit is fully
refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location,
undamaged, with a clean interior and with full fuel tanks (Fuel being
diesel and LPG gas).
We reserve the right to retain
a NZ$100 soiling fee if the vehicle is not returned with the interior
in a clean condition. The toilet and waste water tank (if applicable)
must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional NZ$100
soiling fee will be retained.
Failure to return the vehicle
with full diesel and/or LPG tanks will result in refill charges. Diesel
and LPG gas refill charges will be advised upon return of the vehicle.

We reserve the right to charge the hirer for any speeding or parking
fines, associated administration costs and/or accidents including
third party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle.
The
administration fee per fine will be NZ$50. |
All credit card transactions are conducted in New Zealand dollars.
Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in
the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Kahurangi
Motor Homes Limited does not accept any liability for variances

If a credit card is presented as payment, the credit card holder
will be jointly and severally liable as a customer. Preferred credit
cards are Visa Card, Mastercard & Diners |

A full resident country drivers licence, held for a least one year,
is to be presented at the time of rental. If the licence is not
in English format, an international drivers licence is also required.

Drivers must be 25 years of age or over. |
Crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and linen (towel, pillow, pillowcase,
duvet, bed sheet, tea towel) are included in the daily rental rate
at no extra cost. |

If the hirer wishes to change the drop-off destination after the
rental has commenced, they must first obtain authorisation from
Kahurangi Motor Homes Limited. Subject to the change being approved,
an additional charge of up to NZ$500 will apply. |
If the hirer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must
first obtain authorisation Kahurangi Motor Homes Limited in Nelson.
This is subject to availability. The extra cost of an extended rental
must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of
the rental extension.
Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a daily fee of NZ$150
in addition to the daily rate. |
Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained
roads. No vehicle shall be driven on Skippers Road (Queenstown),
Ninety Mile Beach (Northland), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook), North of
Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula), and Tapu-Coroglen Road
(Coromandel Peninsula). |

Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure,
must be reported to Kahurangi Motor Homes Limited as soon as possible.

Repairs up to NZ$100 may be affected without authorisation and will
be reimbursed. For amounts over NZ$100, Kahurangi Motor Homes Limited
will need to be informed in advance. Repairs will be approved provided
the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts
must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid. |
If for reasons beyond our control the reserved vehicle cannot be
supplied on pickup, a substitute will be offered. Should a substitute
not be available our liability is limited to a full refund of monies
received by Kahurangi Motor Homes Limited. |

The
cancellation fees are:
If cancelled
up to 21 days prior to pick-up: No Fee.
If cancelled
from 21 to 7 days prior to pick-up: 20% of Gross Rental.
If cancelled
6 to 1 days prior to pick-up: 50% of Gross Rental.
If cancelled
on day of pick up or No-Show: 100% of Gross Rental. |
To
be requested at time of reservation and paid by customer on pick
up:
Picnic Table - NZ no charge.
Picnic Chair - NZ no charge.
Child /
Booster seat - NZ$ 25 per rental.
Television (12VDC) $10 per day to a maximum of $100 per rental.

Personal and Company cheques will not
be accepted as payment for rentals at the time of pick-up. These must
be received by 14 days prior to commencement of rentals. Personal or Company
cheques are not acceptable as the refundable security deposit.

No animals are permitted in our vehicles, excluding guide dogs.
